Hobart develops power-saving ware-washing range
The new Premax technology is available across all of Hobart's ware-washing range - from glasswashers, undercounter, passthrough, rack conveyor and flight-type machines through to utensil washers.
Developed by Hobart in Germany, the intelligent control systems incorporated within the Premax range are designed to cut water use by 50 per cent and energy by 30 per cent. The new machines also claim to need 80 per cent less chemicals for cleaning.
Tim Bender, product development manager – warewashing at Hobart UK, said: “This is a major advance in warewash technology that delivers real improvements for operators. The Premax generation of warewashing equipment is at the cutting edge of energy efficiency and also provides numerous other commercial and practical advantages for caterers.
“The advancement is so great, that if the estimated 30,000 flight-type dishwashers in use across Europe were upgraded to the Premax standard, the power savings could provide energy for a city of one million people, while the water saved would be enough to supply 270,000 people – such a switch would also reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 500,000 tons every year.
“Energy consumption is a growing challenge for many caterers, which makes it more imperative than ever that caterers use kitchen equipment that is as efficient as possible."
