Caprice Holdings to launch Harry's Bar in St. Christopher’s Place

Caprice Holdings has chosen St. Christopher’s Place as the location for its second restaurant under its recently launched Harry’s brand.

Located just off Oxford Street, St. Christopher’s Place is one of the capital’s busiest restaurant hubs and is popular with both chains and independents.

Caprice Holdings - which is overseen by restaurant mogul Richard Caring - has taken a large site on James Street that will be able to seat a total of 150 guests. Harry's Bar is expected to open in October.

The company - which is also behind The Ivy, Le Caprice and J Sheekey, among others - opened Harry's Dolce Vita, its first site under the Harry’s brand, late last year in Knightsbridge.

The concept is set to be a growth brand for the group and is inspired by the Mayfair private members’ club that opened on South Audley Street in the 70s (also called Harry’s Bar).

The design takes its cues from “the glamour of 1950s Italy”. The group’s upcoming West End site will have luxurious banquettes, a wood-panelled bar, and bright, colourful artwork.

The menu is overseen by Diego Cardoso - who was once head chef at Angela Harnett’s Michelin-starred Murano restaurant in Mayfair.

There will also be a cicchetti menu - small plates traditionally served in Venetian Bacari bars – designed to be served in the terrace.
