Beastro restaurant to open in Manchester Spinningfields
Street food traders Bangers and Bacon are to open their first permanent restaurant in Manchester later this month.

It comes after the team beat five other pop-ups to be crowned the winner of Allied London’s The Kitchens start-up competition at Manchester’s Spinningfields development.

Now Bangers and Bacon has evolved in to Beastro, a new all-day offering opening on 8 April.

The 45-cover restaurant will serve a grab-and-go breakfast and lunch menu including a ‘grown-up’ sausage roll; buttermilk pancake stacks; and hot roast sandwiches.

In the evening the restaurant will open up a six-cover chef’s table, and serve dishes such as 35-day aged beef; pork rillettes – shredded pork infused with sage and apple served with sourdough; and beef tagliata salad.

Beastro is the brainchild of chef Richard Brown and James and Heather Taylor from the Bobby’s Bangers sausage brand.

Brown previously cooked at the Michelin-starred Juniper in Altincham before it closed, and launched street food brand Shake, Moroc and Roll in 2014.

The trio were among six other pop-ups to land a spot in The Kitchens last year. The year-long competition saw traders judged on the turnover and success of the brand, with the winner awarded a five-year lease and continued support from developers Allied London.

“[Allied London] gave street food operators a chance to test out ideas, and spent a year advising and organising us," says Brown.

"Now it’s time for us to show everyone the fruits of our labour and we can’t wait to get started!”
