Tattu Chinese restaurant to open second site in Leeds
Tattu, which launched its first site at Manchester’s Spinningfields in 2015, will open a 180-cover restaurant in the city’s mixed-use Bond Court development in June.
Executive chef Clifton Muil has created a menu offering twists on traditional Cantonese-style chicken and a banana fritter desert, as well as new dishes such as a sweet soy sticky short-rib.
While the restaurant’s price point remains unclear, the menu at Tattu Manchester includes a £50 whole wasabi lobster, £70 wagyu ribeye steak, and a £2,450 bottle of brandy.
More cash-conscious Leeds diners will also be able to order an 'express' lunch offering, priced at £24.50 for three courses.
While Tattu Manchester features cherry blossom trees inside the restaurant, the Leeds site will incorporate white roses in to a bespoke design based on the ‘progression of body art’.
“The ‘U’ in Tattu stands for unique and the new restaurant will be exactly that,” says Adam Jones, managing director of Tattu Restaurants.
“Over the past two years we have worked very hard as a team to refine and constantly improve our offering and are very happy with the direction the brand is taking.”
Tattu will join Leeds’ growing independent restaurant scene. The city has seen a 12.8% rise in new openings since 2014, according to new research.
