Marriott International has brought its luxury, independent hotel brand the Autograph Collection into the UK this spring with the 74-bedroom Threadneedles in London and the 65-bedroom Glasshouse in Edinburgh.

Budget hotel chain Travelodge has today moved a step closer to completing the offload of 49 hotels under its financial restructuring programme, with 18 properties transferring to new owners and 20 moving under franchise agreements.

The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) has urged hospitality businesses to ensure they guard against asbestos exposure after Britannia Hotels was fined £160k and ordered to pay more than £40k in costs following a recent court case.
