Hankies opens third London restaurant

The 250-cover site will feature a smart interior design with huge chandeliers hanging from above, and a large dedicated bar area.

It will also have a private dining room that comes complete with its own bar, and will be capable of seating up to 55 guests.

The tapas-style menu will feature a selection of dishes based on traditional Delhi street food recipes, many of which are priced £3 and £6.

Small bites include a 'fruits de mer popcorn' of crispy rice puffs with snow crab, shrimps and sago seeds, served with a lemon and coriander dip; and crispy guinea fowl with chilli salt, ash peppers, and herb mayonnaise; as well as tandoor dishes like skewers of tiger prawns with chives and garlic; and chilli lamb chops marinated in Kashmiri chillies and honey.

The restaurant will also serve Hankies' ‘signature’ roomali roti; thin flatbread that are hand spun, cooked, and then folded into 'hankies'.

Hankies, which was founded by former Benares chef Anirudh Arora, opened its first site on Shaftesbury Avenue in 2017, and followed it up with a second in Marble Arch a year later.

Arora also owns and operates Nirvana Bar in Marylebone.
