Som Saa to crowdfund to open second Thai restaurant london
London-based Thai restaurant Som Saa is looking to open a second restaurant in the capital.

Owners Andy Oliver, Mark Dobbie and Tom George are once again taking to crowdfunding to open their second restaurant, and are soon to launch a funding campaign on the platform Seedrs.

The trio opened Som Saa on Shoreditch’s Commercial Street in 2016 having successfully raised £700,000 in three days through crowdfunding.

In a message on Seedrs they said: “Since then we have served hundreds of thousands of guests, developed an experienced team and been consistently profitable. We are now ready to grow the business and expand.”

The restaurant later added: " Som Saa Commercial street has been a labour of love, but now the time has come to fire the starting pistol on our second restaurant."

The new central London restaurant is being described as “unique” and will have a more competitive price point that the original Som Saa. It will serve street food dishes, whole coconut smoked ducks to share, and a huge range of beers and wines on tap - all in a communal ‘beer hall’ vibe.

The new model, which will be “designed with exceptional value and consistency in mind”, will establish a model for further growth and opportunities, according to the trio.

The round of funding is yet to open but potential investors can pre-register for early access to the crowdfunding campaign. More details, including the full investment pitch with details of the new concept, financial projections, investor rewards and more, will soon be available.
