Cosmo Group founder launches PizzaSqr
PizzaSqr has been set up by Cosmo’s Tom Chan, and is registered at the same office on Companies House, though it will be overseen by operations manager Davide Cason.
The format will sell “artisanal” square pizza slices and has ambitions to become “one of the biggest pizza chains in the country” by expanding to 100 stores over the next five years.
The first will launch at intu Merry Hill shopping centre this summer.
“If there’s one thing I believe, it’s that pizza doesn’t need to be complicated," says Cason. "I am excited to introduce PizzaSqr; simple and delicious pizza as square slices.
“Our menu will combine the freshest ingredients, seasonal toppings and expert craftsmanship to create, based on authentic recipes from Rome, pizza everyone is going to love!"
The concept will also serve fresh sandwiches, soups, pastries and Italian coffee.
Cosmo currently runs 19 restaurants under its eponymous buffet brand. The group closed sites in Coventry and York earlier this year, while its Leeds restaurant has been “temporarily closed” for several months.
