Burning Night Group crowdfunds £1m towards expansion
The group is aiming to raise £3.5m to open new venues under its German-themed Bierkeller, Shooters Sports Bar and Around the World brands.
Burning Night – which runs 13 bars in Manchester, Cardiff, Leeds and Liverpool – turned over £17m in 2016, but now wants to expand to other cities across the UK.
The company has already raised over £1m since it launched its campaign on peer-to-peer lending platform Crowdstacker in September, offering seven per cent p.a interest to investors.
Alan Harper, CEO of Burning Night Group, said crowdfunding was a way for the chain to engage with its ‘huge community of customers and fans’.
“All our bars have a strong contingent of regulars, and we wanted to give them a way to benefit from our success by becoming involved with our expansion,” he said.
The group is already set to open in Birmingham after securing a 15-year lease on the 22,000 sq.ft former Brannigans site in the city earlier this year.
Burning Night is the latest hospitality group to turn to crowdfunding to finance expansion, following the likes of Brewdog, Chilango and Yorkshire Meatball Company.
