• Customers are threatening to boycott the Byron burger chain​ after dozens of its workers were arrested in a raid by immigration officials. The Home Office said that Byron had carried out the correct 'right to work' checks, but staff had used fake papers to get jobs at the burger firm.

• Many Michelin-starred restaurants and top hotels are still failing to provide proper disabled toilets,​ a disability commentator has claimed. Fiona Jarvis, a wheelchair user, told BigHospitality she had experienced restaurants using disabled toilets as storage and was often unable to fit her wheelchair through supposedly 'accessible' doors.

• Former footballers Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs have unveiled plans for a multi-million pound hotel and restaurant scheme​ in Manchester. Neville said the development - which includes two sky bars, a five-star hotel and three public spaces - would bring the city's Jackson's Row area 'back to life'.

• Nearly two-thirds of the leaders of the UK's restaurant, pub and bar groups believe Brexit will have a negative impact on their business​. According to CGA Peach research their main concerns were shaken consumer confidence, a possible decrease in available staff and spiralling product costs.

• Alton Towers is to open a CBeebies-themed hotel​ for parents and toddlers next year. Each of the 76 rooms will be designed around a CBeebies programme and the hotel will also host live shows and character 'meet and greets'.
