Matt Worswick joins Pennyhill Park as head chef
The 28 year-old joins the Surrey hotel from the Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa in the Wirral where he has worked as executive chef for the past 18 months.
Worswick won a Michelin Rising Star award in 2007 at St. Martins-on-the-Isle on The Isles of Scilly, and he was the youngest chef in Scotland to receive a Michelin-star while working at Glenapp Castle in Ayrshire in 2013.
The Liverpool-born chef reached the semi-finals of BBC MasterChef: The Professionals in 2010 and was a regional finalist representing the North West in last year’s Great British Menu.
Worswick said: ‘’Pennyhill Park has a formidable reputation and I am very excited about joining The Latymer as head chef. It’s a great privilege to have this opportunity with a platform to really showcase my food in such superb surroundings.’’
Julian Tomlin, general manager at Pennyhill Park, said the hotel was ‘thrilled’ by the chef’s appointment.
“I am very much looking forward to Matt bringing his creative energy and clear culinary vision to the team and developing an exciting new food offering to maintain the restaurant’s position as one of the finest in the UK,” he said.
Pennyhill Park is part of the Exclusive Hotels collection, which includes South Lodge hotel in Sussex and Lainston House in Hampshire.
Matt will commence his role at The Latymer on 1 March.
