The River Restaurant - a new 90-cover site at Dart Marina Hotel in Dartmouth, is set to open in late Spring as part of a £1million redesign project of the property.

Under the guidance of restaurant manager Toni Amos and head chef Tom Woods, the River Restaurant will have a focus on locally-sourced, fresh food. Split over two levels, it offers diners a clear view over the River Dart.

“We heard that we had been given planning permission on December 23rd and this really was a reason to celebrate over Christmas for all our team,” said Dart Marina Hotel’s manager Paul Downing.

“We are investing a million pounds in the Hotel as part of our on-going commitment to maintain the highest standards for our guests and to ensure that the Hotel is positioned to offer exceptional hospitality for many years to come”.

The details…

Sample dishes on the River Restaurant’s menu include a tenderloin of Poole Farm pork wrapped in Parma ham, lemon, thyme and pistachio stuffing, grain mustard mash, apple and cider sauce; and fillets of Brixham plaice, crab risotto, broccoli, spring onion, shellfish sauce.

The cost of three courses plus coffee is in the region of £35 - £40. A lighter menu is also served at lunch time.

The interior design features a wall of glass overlooking the River, with soft leather in bark tones, burnt caramel and olive velvet, large stylish dining chairs and soft banquette seating.

The re-design project also includes 14 newly-designed guest rooms, with stunning views of the River Dart and plans also include landscaping an area at the front of the Hotel.
