Another US burger brand is opening in the capital
New York burger brand Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer will open its inaugural site in the UK this autumn.

The brand, which is known for its classic New York style burgers and trademark CrazyShake milkshakes, will open a venue in Westfield Stratford City, which will be closely followed by a second flagship site in Soho in early 2025.

The 100-seat restaurant in Westfield will be inspired by the brand's original New York site and will feature its distinctive striped monochrome floors and walls covered in street art.

The menu will feature burgers and chicken sandwiches served alongside a selection of snacks and sides including Korean BBQ wings. Black Tap’s menu will also feature burger salads, vegan dishes and vegetarian sides.

It will also serve its CrazyShake milkshakes that have garnered a cult following in the US thanks to their large toppings that include slices of cake, cotton candy clouds and cookies, as well a range of limited edition beers.

Black Tap launched in New York's SoHo neighbourhood in 2015 with a small 15-cover site. It now has seven sites across the US and 20 sites globally.

“Next year will mark 10 years since we began Black Tap, which felt like the perfect time for us to bring everything that we’re known for to the UK," say Black Tap Founders Chris Barish and Julie Mulligan.

"For us, London has always been somewhere we saw Black Tap growing, the underground culture has a lot in common with the NYC vibe from the 80s and 90s so we’re very excited to see this dream become a reality."
