Baton Berisha steps away from The Wolseley Hospitality Group
In a statement, Minor Hotels, which owns TWHG, confirmed that Berisha had left the group to ‘pursue new opportunities outside of Minor’.
“Minor would like to express its sincere gratitude to Mr. Berisha for his contributions to The Wolseley Hospitality Group during his tenure,” the statement reads.
News of Berisha’s departure follows reports back in June that Minor had drafted in restructuring experts from AlixPartners to advise on cost management issues at TWHG.
Berisha joined TWHG, formerly Corbin & King, in August 2022, just a few months after Minor acquired full control of the business following a prolonged and very public battle for ownership with the group's co-founder Jeremy King.
The group subsequently returned to the expansion trail last year with the opening of Manzi’s in Soho and The Wolseley City.
During Berisha's tenure, TWHG also made its international debut with the launch of a Café Wolseley pop up in the Thai capital of Bangkok.
“Under his leadership, the company achieved notable milestones,” the statement continues.
“Mr. Berisha also fostered a culture that emphasized innovation, entrepreneurship, and passion.
“On behalf of the entire Minor team, we wish Mr. Berisha all the best in his future endeavours.”
In his own statement published on LinkedIn, Berisha said he had decided to step away from the role ‘after much reflection’.
“It has been an incredible honour to lead such a beloved and prestigious organisation,” he added.
Berisha, whose CV also includes stints as chief executive of The Ivy Collection and managing director at D&D London, will continue to support TWHG during the transition period until a successor is appointed.
