Kitty Fisherʼs Group has closed Cafe Kitty in London’s Soho after less than a year of trading, with the group saying ‘in life some things just don't work out’.

The restaurant, which launched in November last year within the Underbelly Boulevard theatre, is listed by Hot Dinners as having closed this month.

A note on Cafe Kitty’s website said: “Sadly, we have closed Cafe Kitty.

“It was a wonderful restaurant, so we are all understandably gutted, but in life some things just don't work out.”

No further explanation was given for the restaurant’s closure.

Kitty Fisherʼs Group also owns the eponymous Kitty Fisher’s in Mayfair and Cora Pearl in Covent Garden, both of which continue to operate.

Billed as the ‘cool little sister’ of Kitty Fisher’s and Cora Pearl, Café Kitty occupied the first floor of Underbelly Boulevard and served a modern British menu overseen by head chef Charles Shaw.

Dishes to feature on the menu included a cheeseburger tartare; salt-aged sirloin to share; and a Stavordale cheese salad with fries.

A note on the Underbelly Boulevard website says it is currently ‘cooking up and exciting new offer’ for the theatre’s restaurant space, which will be unveiled soon.
