Pasta Evangelists heads to Manchester for first airport site

The Barilla Group-owned business, which started out life as a delivery concept, has secured a site in Terminal 2 of the airport that will offer both dine in and takeaway.

Pasta Evangelists has developed a new breakfast offering for the opening, which will include an Italian-style fry up with grilled pancetta, Sicilian sausages, frittata, baked borlotti beans and mushrooms.

Alongside this the restaurant will serve a range of fresh pasta dishes such as lobster tortellini; truffle mac’n’cheese; carbonara; and slow-cooked beef and chianti ragù.

A selection of traditional antipasti will also be available including tomato and rosemary focaccia; mini calzone pizzas; as well as Italian desserts such as tiramisù; lemon tarts; and a gelato assortment.

News of the opening comes after Pasta Evangelists announced plans last month to open 20 sites over the next five years​​ as part of a franchise rollout.

The group recently opened a ‘pasta emporium’ in London’s Richmond in partnership with AMSRIC, with a further site in Greenwich set to launch in the coming months.

Pasta Evangelists was founded by Savelli in 2016 and operates a network of delivery kitchens across the UK, as well as an extensive meal kit business.

It opened its first restaurant in the Harrods Dining Hall in May 2021 and was bought by the Barilla Group the same year.
