Bleecker announces first new opening in five years to coincide with ‘National Burger Day’

The group has taken over the site that was previously occupied by Greek restaurant Tooleys on Tooley Street near London Bridge.

It will be Bleecker’s third bricks and mortar site and eighth location overall in the capital.

One of the golden generation of street food concepts, Bleecker built a reputation for one of the most uncompromising burgers in London’s street food scene, based on a no-frills formula of patty, bun and cheese.

Founded by New York native Zan Kaufman, Bleecker originally launched back in 2012 and opened its first permanent concession site within Spitalfields Market in 2015.

The group went on to establish bricks and mortar sites in Victoria and Bloomberg Arcade in 2017, as well as another concession within Westfield London that opened back in 2019

It also operates three delivery-only locations in Battersea, Bermondsey and Maida Vale.

Announcing the opening of London Bridge on Instagram, Kaufman said: “It's been five years since we opened a restaurant.

“This site is the culmination of everything we have learned since our last opening. I'm thrilled to bring Bleecker to the people of London Bridge.”
