Indian restaurant group Dishoom will make its transatlantic debut next month in the form of a collaboration with famed New York French brasserie Pastis.

According to an Instagram post published by both brands DishoomNYCxPastis will be focused on breakfast dishes and will run 8-11am Monday to Friday from August 19 - 23 and August 26 - 30.

Dishoom famously made Indian food - a cuisine that had hitherto only really been served for lunch and dinner in UK-based restaurants - into a compelling breakfast offer when it launched in 2010.

The brand’s famous breakfast naan roll (see main image) appears as part of the Instagram post alongside its chilli cheese toast with fried eggs.

“Inspired by the vibrant café cultures of Paris and Bombay, this partnership brings together two places where people from all walks of life gather to eat, drink, and share ideas,” the post reads. “Don’t miss out on this one-of-a-kind event that celebrates the essence of café culture across the globe.”

Pastis was founded in 1999 by Keith McNally in New York’s meatpacking district but closed its doors in 2014 after the landlord tripled the rent.

The restaurant relaunched in 2019 within a larger site on 52 Gansevoort Street just around the corner from the original location.

Dishoom was founded by Shamil and Kavi Thakrar in Covent Garden in 2010 and now operates an estate of 10 restaurants under its core brand across London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Birmingham as well as its Permit Room spin-off in Brighton and Cambridge.
