Mayfair private members’ club Annabel’s has launched a South American-inspired restaurant in the space that previously housed its Mexican Room restaurant.

Celebrating ‘the rich tapestry of flavours and traditions from the region’, Bolívar is focused on steaks with options including cowboy steak; wagyu flat iron; and Brazilian sirloin.

Other dishes include whole charred cauliflower Al Pastor; beef tartare with adobo peppers and tlayuda; and smoked chipotle bearnez and caviar oysters.

The new wine list is big on wines from the region while the spirits and cocktail programme is focused on agave-based drinks with options including the Bolivar Margarita; the Batida Tropical; and El Libertador.

On the second floor of the 26,000 sq ft Berkeley Square club, the space ‘boasts a revamped bohemian aesthetic crafted to immerse members and guests in an enriching dining experience’ with design details including an original 18th Century Antique stone fireplace; bold fiery colours; wooden furniture; and woven jute accents.

Part of Richard Caring’s The Birley Clubs group, Annabel’s was founded in 1963 but moved to a Grade-I listed Georgian mansion house at 46 Berkeley Square in 2018.

Its sister venues include George, Mark’s Club and Harry’s Bar.
