Little Fish Market chef Duncan Ray launches sharing concept at Curds & Whey in Hove
Little Fish Market chef Duncan Ray has launched a sharing plate concept at nearby cheese shop and restaurant Curds & Whey.

Shared by Duncan Ray is the first new concept from the chef since he launched Little Fish Market on a Hove backstreet almost exactly a decade ago (the restaurant celebrated its 10th birthday earlier this month).

Ray will remain behind the stove at his well-regarded flagship - which has featured on Restaurant’s list of the top 100 restaurants in the UK - with the food at Shared by Duncan Ray being cooked by Al Studd, who also oversees the food at Shortts Bar Brighton and pie maker Al The Pieman.

The menu includes Carlingford Oyster Po’ Boy; terrine of Fosse Meadow chicken; Al’s Dexter beef bar with celeriac and savoy; rump of Saddlescombe lamb with potato anna and lentils; and financier biscuit, pear and salted caramel.

The five course menu is priced at £90 for two to share with a cheese course available for a £7 supplement.

Like Little Fish Market, Shared by Duncan Ray will offer a single seating with guests arriving at 7.15pm for 7.30pm. 20 guests will be served at each seating with Shared by Duncan Ray open Tuesday - Saturday.

Located a few minutes walk away from Little Fish Market on Western Road close to the Brighton and Hove border, Curds & Whey launched in 2020 and is from the same team as L’Atelier du Vin, which currently operates a further two sites in the city.
