Rusk & Rusk continues Glasgow restaurant expansion
Restaurant group Rusk & Rusk has launched its fourth Glasgow site following a £1m investment.

Husband and wife team James and Louise Rusk have opened So L.A, an all-day restaurant celebrating ‘the eclectic cultures and cuisines known for influencing the Californian dining scene’.

The 150-cover restaurant marks the group’s first venture in to Glasgow city centre.

The Rusk’s opened their first site, steak restaurant Butchershop Bar & Grill in 2010, followed by Hutchesons City Grill and The Spanish Butcher in 2016. Their company now employs more than 200 people across Glasgow.

So L.A’s Californian-inspired menu includes sautéed chickpea panisse; street corn; and miso glazed beef fillet.

James Rusk says: “California has always been a real pioneer when it comes to the culinary arts— from its extraordinary use of fresh produce to its fun and atmospheric interiors.

“So L.A. is a new concept that channels all of this and pushes the boundaries of our current offering.”

The site also features underground bar The White Box, which is described as a ‘subterranean urban garden’ for private functions.

Another independent restaurateur, chef Nico Simeone, this month also announced plans to open his third site in Glasgow – Public House by Nico.
