Little Nan's to open Fitzrovia restaurant and bar
Launching on Warren Street on 2 April, it will be the third site for the group, which started out as a beer and cider led concept in Deptford before branching out to become an award-winning cocktail bar in Catford.
The menu at the new bar and restaurant is considerably larger than at the other sites, which only serve bar food.
Dishes, inspired by owner Grandson Tristan’s family’s recipe books, will include Welsh lamb chops marinated in mustard and mint; baked salmon with white wine and dill; wholetail scampi with hand cut chips and tartare sauce; beef hot pot; sweet and sour aubergine stew with toasted soldiers; pork belly disco fries; and a ploughman’s sandwich made with home roast ham, cooked in a spiced rum spiked hot mulled apple juice.
The Fitzrovia venue will serve the brand’s signature quirky cocktails in teapots and vases along with craft beers, wines and seasonal mocktails. These can also be ordered as part of package deals for ‘boozy brunch’ and ‘boozy teapot afternoon tea’.
Interiors will be ‘kitsch art deco’, as at the Catford and Deptford sites. Owner ‘Grandson Tristan’ uses furniture, ornaments and heirlooms he inherited from his late grandmother (the bars’ namesake) to furnish the sites.
The new bar and restaurant will also feature a downstairs dressing up room.
Besides its two permanent south London sites, Little Nan is currently running a pop-up residency at the Stag & Bow pub in Forest Hill, which will finish at the end of March.
