Clove Club doubles up

The team behind the Michelin-starred Clove Club have announced plans to open their second London restaurant​ next month. Luca will serve Italian food with a British twist when it launches in Clerkenwell in November.

Giraffe buys Ed's

Hundreds of jobs are to be lost at the Ed's Easy Diner chain following its sale to giraffe owner Boparan Restaurant Holdings​ this week. Twenty-six of the group's 59 sites are to close as part of the deal, with almost 400 redundancies.

A new kind of takeaway

Michelin-starred Galvin at Windows is offering home-delivery of its dishes​ for the first time. The Galvin brothers' restaurant has teamed up with Deliveroo to offer Londoners a £35 three-course takeaway throughout October.

Time Out hits Shoreditch

Media company Time Out is looking to bring its trendy food market to Shoreditch​ next year. The group, which opened a market in Lisbon in 2014, is set to launch a 19,250 sq.ft site featuring 17 restaurants, four bars and a Cooking Academy. 

Top hotels must target China

London's luxury hotels need to be more 'proactive' to attract high-spending Chinese tourists​ or risk losing out to other European cities, the British Hospitality Association (BHA) has warned. The UK welcomes just over 300,000 visitors from China each year, compared to 1m in France. Now the BHA is calling on hotels to improve staff language skills and offer Chinese beer and noodles in mini-bars to attract visitors.
