16 Hospitality announces fifth site acquisition in Cheshire

The new venue, formerly known as The Hollow Tree, will now undergo a full refurbishment, plus receive a new name, and a new food and drinks offering, and is set to re-open in mid-2017. It will also have en-suite guest rooms.  

The move will take the group up to five sites in total, and comes as the company looks to announce further expansion plans across the North West of England, and Wales, in the near future.

It will also form part to the group’s plans to develop The Hub, its in-house training programme that gives trainees the chance to learn from existing teams and offers hands-on training in skills such as wine tasting, coffee making, and sea-fishing.

The company’s other sites are Cheshire venues The Swan in Tarporley and The Crown at Goostrey, and two sites on the island of Anglesey, comprising The White Eagle in Rhoscolyn and The Oyster Catcher in Rhosneigr.

Edward Barlow, managing director of 16 Hospitality, said: “We are thrilled to have secured this site as it has so much potential to do really well. We are sure there will be a positive reaction to our plans from visitors and locals alike, as our research has showed that there is demand…We want the pub to become a firm favourite with the locals and visitors, known for its great food, served by great people in a relaxed, comfortable setting.”  

Barlow founded 16 Hospitality in 2015, and acquired its first four sites that year, having begun his career as a trainee manager at Watling Street Inns in 1996, before going on to take over The Swan in 2009.
