Amaris Hospitality agrees £30m Hilton re-brand
Under the agreement the Carlton Hotel in Edinburgh will become Hilton Edinburgh Carlton, the Glasgow City Hotel will re-brand to DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central, while the Jurys Inns Custom House hotel in Dublin will become Hilton Garden Inn Dublin Custom House.
The move forms part of a wider investment plan to boost the value of Amaris’s portfolio from £1.5bn to £2bn over the next three to five years.
The 89-strong group – created by American private equity group Lone Star in July – last month announced plans to spend £100m rebranding 21 hotels to Mecure and Jurys Inn sites.
Amaris will operate the re-branded Hilton properties under a franchise agreement.
John Brennan, CEO of Amaris Hospitality, said: “The quality of our leadership team and the employees within these hotels, working in conjunction with our new partners in Hilton Worldwide, will ensure a smooth and seamless transition for our guests and we hope to complete the transformation of these properties by Q3 2016.”
The agreement brings the number of Hilton branded hotels in the Amaris Hospitality portfolio to six. The group already owns and operates DoubleTree by Hilton hotels in London Chelsea and Islington and a Hilton Garden Inn at Heathrow Airport.
