New season Jazzy potatoes are back
Jazzy potatoes, the so called 'small potato with the big personality' has returned to the wholesale and foodservice sector.

Product details:

Potato variety Jazzy is back in season and has returned to the foodservice sector. Grown in Britain by a group of five growers from Cornwall, Norfolk, and Lancashire, the small potato variety is known for its consistent quality, flavour and appearance and has become popular with chefs for its versatility. It is available in 10kg boxes in small (35 – 42mm) which are in the green cartons and baby small (20 – 35mm) which are in the red cartons.

USP:

Duncan Parsonage, head of food development at wholesaler Fresh Direct, said: “Jazzy has a unique balance of buttery, nuttiness. The waxy tubers perform well in both salads and shaken in a hot pan with minted butter and sea salt. I would suggest the Jazzy may even eclipse the long-standing Charlotte variety as a versatile all rounder”.

Price:

Will vary per order.

Availability:

Boxes are available to buy from Fresh Direct at www.freshdirect.co.uk or Preva at www.preva.co.uk and will also be available to sample at New Covent Garden Market on Monday 9 September from 11pm.

Why you should buy it:

Will Beeson, director of Preva Produce, said: “Our customers are really excited about the arrival of new season Jazzy.  The crops look excellent and I think we will be able to provide Jazzy customers with another, longer, season of great tasting Jazzy with a beautiful skin finish - as they have come to expect.”
