The Quarter Group, which owns and operates three cafés and restaurants in London, is set to launch the Royal Quarter Café near Buckingham Palace later this month.

Opening on 24 June, the 70-seat corner site will offer the same menu as the Quarter Group’s debut café in Chelsea - a modern mix of seasonal, healthy comfort food including homemade bread and pastries.

Valeria Zilkha, who founded the Quarter Group in 2006 with husband Doron, told BigHospitality that they do have plans to open more outlets, with a look to move to the next venture at the right time.

“Our locations have to be very unique, so it’s not easy but it always comes at the right time for the Quarter Group,” she said. “The Quarter Brand is very expansive, as well as cafés, we will be looking to expand towards restaurants and bakeries as well.

“At this stage we are looking for a bakery location as the demand for our produce has outgrown our space capacity at the moment.”

Cakes and pastries will be priced between £1.20 and £4.50

Royal Quarter Café will be situated in Wellington House, Buckingham Gate. It will be open seven days a week, offering an all-day breakfast (£4.95 - £9.95), sandwiches and soups, sharing platters (£10.95 - £18.95), hearty salads, afternoon tea, cakes and tarts, all available to eat in or take-away.

The drinks menu will consist of a selection of fresh juices and smoothies, priced from £3.95-£4.95, along with wine from £3.95 a glass and beer priced at £3.95. Coffee by Illy and tea by Teapigs will also be available.

The venue will have a light and modern interior, with white walls and floor-to-ceiling windows. The interior will feature tall bookshelves, wood panelled walls, oak tables, green leather chairs and brown banquettes.

A two-tiered oak table will display freshly made pastries, cakes, and bread, and outdoor seating will also be available.

The Quarter Group’s other outlets include Chelsea Quarter Café in King’s Road (2011), the River Quarter Kitchen in Plantation Wharf (2012), and Heal’s Quarter Café and Heal’s Quarter Café Express at the Heal’s store in Tottenham Court Road (2013).
