One Tree, a piece of software which allows hospitality businesses to sell gift packages on the hotel or restaurant's own website, was launched earlier this year.

Product details:

The One Tree software provides businesses with an online gift card shop for any website. After installation, hoteliers or restaurateurs can display gift offers on their venue's website, set individual pricing and terms and control the look and feel of the software on their site.

Hotels or restaurants can sell all their services as gift packages to their customers who can purchase an experience online such as a dinner for two or a round of golf and send it immediately to their friend or relative either as an email or a postal gift card.

Customers can also purchase the packages using the same system either on the phone or in the venue itself.

A secure web portal then captures and tracks all sales, customer and gift data. Businesses can use the portal to create their gift card page and encourage clients to make a purchase before the system pays the hotel automatically whenever a customer purchases a gift card.

USP:

For a low fixed monthly fee, the developer says hospitality businesses get a fully integrated e-commerce solution which will drive more revenue to the hotel or restaurant.

Cost:

There is a one-off fee to set up the system plus a fixed monthly license fee starting at £50 per month.

Availability:

More details and information on acquiring the system are available on the company website or by calling managing director Phil Callan on 01761 472911.

Why should you buy it?

Phil Callan, managing director of One Tree Software, said: “Any business which has a service to sell should consider selling gift cards from their website.

"Anecdotal evidence suggests that you can sell 40 per cent more gift cards if you have an online presence, and it is estimated that up to 25 per cent of all gift cards are never redeemed. This is a huge opportunity for any hotel or hospitality business."
