Glion Institute of Higher Education, one of the world's leading higher education institutions for students looking to develop a career in hospitality management, is to open its first branch campus in London.

Glion London will initially offer a Bachelor of Business Administration in Hospitality Management and a Postgraduate Diploma in Hospitality Administration when it opens at the University of Roehampton in August 2013.

The Laureate Education network, of which the Switzerland-based institution is a part, already has a partnership with the south west London university - it helps deliver online courses.

Gateway

"Glion is leading the way in providing students with a unique global education experience," Douglas Becker, chairman and chief executive officer of Laureate Education, said.

"London is an important gateway for our hospitality management students. It is one of the world’s leading centres for business, finance and hospitality, and it is a desired English-language destination for students who want to earn their degree from Glion.

"We are delighted that this new Glion campus has been made possible through our partnership with the University of Roehampton, London. It highlights the benefits of the collaboration that takes place among institutions that are associated with the Laureate International Universities network," Becker added.

Global classroom

The expansion to London marks an important stage in the development of the well-respected hospitality training insitution. Currently more than 90 per cent of Glion graduates take up jobs in the industry within six months of getting their degree.

10,000 graduates are currently employed in more than 100 countries.

Students wanting to study with the school will now be able to choose from locations in Switzerland, the USA or the UK as well as being able to study full or part time online, allowing them to become part of what Glion calls a 'real-time global classroom'.
