Event caterer Amadeus has won a three year rolling contract to be the sole provider of catering for weddings and events at the Grade I Listed Stoneleigh Abbey in Warwickshire.

Amadeus, provider of all catering at Birmingham's NEC and who will be responsible for food at the Olympic Park North during The Games this summer, has been on a list of preferred caterers at Stoneleigh Abbey for several years, but was confirmed as sole provider yesterday.

It will now cater at all events held at the Abbey, which has been owned by a charitable trust for the past 16 years. Events will include business lunches, conferences, weddings and corporate banquets. As part of the deal, Amadeus will also manage Stoneleigh Abbey’s event marketing and sales.

Tony Bird, chairman of Stoneleigh Abbey said Amadeus had consistently delivered 'excellent service' during its time as a listed caterer which led to its choice.

“Their approach, high standards and support in areas such as sales and marketing along with, most importantly, the empathy and care shown towards the history and prestige of the listed venue really helped cement the exclusive contract. They understand the challenges and opportunities that working in such an historic setting presents, which is of paramount importance to us," he said.

“We want the best for our guests at the Abbey and we are confident that Amadeus will deliver outstanding and high quality hospitality in the unique and wonderful setting at Stoneleigh.”

Alyson Cawley, managing director of Amadeus, said the company was 'thrilled' with the news. "It is a real privilege to operate in such a beautiful and historic setting as Stoneleigh Abbey. Our team is used to working in prestigious venues and our care, attention to detail and respect for the setting has supported Amadeus in the award of this contract," she said.
