Hot pepper sauce supplier Hot Diggidy Dog Sauce, has developed a single-use sachet designed for use in restaurants, hotels and pubs.

The snap-and-squeeze sachet was developed in the UK for customer convenience and increased sale volumes. Credit card sized, the user simply has to fold back the packaging which self-perforates a small hole in the centre, avoiding them getting the hot sauce on their fingers.

Following its launch in retail, Hot Diggidy Dog is now looking to supply the sachets to hotels, pubs and restaurant chains throughout the UK. The RRP of each sachet is 20 pence.

“The secret to Hot Diggidy Dog Sauce’s appeal is the combination of ingredients that allows the natural heat of the chillies to come through slowly and allows the palette to taste the flavours of the food first,” said Simon Llewellyn, who created the product.

Chilli-loving entrepreneur Llewellyn used chillies to spice up bland food whilst spending three months at sea underwater with the Royal Navy Submarine fleet. The former nuclear marine engineer became injured whilst in service and used to use chillies for their natural pain relief properties.

Hot Diggidy Dog’s original sauces launched in the UK in April 2010. It is now sold through a host of national and independent food retailersin 57ml bottles, with an RRP ranging from £1.65 to £1.99.
