Caffè Culture to open doors in London next week
Slated to take place on 18 and 19 May at Olympia in London, the event will this year also include a new Caffè Business Workshop, which aims to provide practical advice on all aspects of running a successful café bar.
Caffè Culture will also see the launch of new products and services for the café bar market from both small and large suppliers of tea and coffee products, machinery and baked goods.
Caffè Business Workshop
Business information that will be presented at the show includes a guide from accountant Sean Farnell on how to effectively managing the finances of your business, including profit and loss, bookkeeping, a guide to VAT, tax and payroll.
The ‘Coffee Boys’, Hugh Gilmartin and John Richardson, will again present a step-by-step guide to setting up a coffee shop, while retailing specialist Clare Rayner will explain how to attract new customers, retain existing ones and increase the spend of both.
In addition, café consultant Chris Brown will host a ‘Food Issue’ session on how to deliver an attractive and profitable food offering. Other sessions include how to manage, train and retain staff from Learn Purple, as well as how to run day-to-day operations for an efficient and profitable business, presented by Robert Henry of Another Cup.
Practical sessions and seminars
A series of practical sessions on the operational side of running a business will be held under the Caffè Fundamentals Workshop programme.
These will include sessions on all levels of barista training – from an introduction to the basics through to techniques for espresso preparation, milk texturing and latte art pouring. Tea will be another area of focus, with sessions on tasting, making and serving tea.
The Caffè Theatre will also address some of the main issues faced by owners and managers of hospitality companies, such as pricing structures, staffing costs and customer service.
Event director Elliot Gard said: “With the addition of the Caffè Clinic and the two new business workshop streams, we are excited by the huge range of onsite training, business and key industry issues we’re able to deal with in this year’s programme.
