Woods Foodservice has been a trusted name in the foodservice industry for over four decades. With a passion for delivering the finest ingredients and exceptional service, they have established themselves as a go-to supplier for high-end restaurants, hotels, gastro pubs and event catering establishments in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Brighton, and Bristol.
The recent launch of their new fresh produce warehouse has further strengthened their commitment to quality and sustainability in the sector, and their commitment has not gone unnoticed by chefs in the industry, having been recently voted in the Readers’ Choice Awards as top supplier in Fresh Produce for 2023, as well as Top Supplier and Foodservice for 7 consecutive years.
Lana Bhikha, Deputy Managing Director commented “We’re extremely grateful for everyone who voted for us in the awards. Expanding into fresh produce during the pandemic was a challenge, but we are always determined to be the very best at what we do, and constantly improving our levels of service to our clientele”.
The new Fresh Produce warehouse is an impressive facility that has been designed to ensure an optimal climate for fresh produce. Spanning over 11 thousand square feet, the warehouse provides the perfect environment for growth in this area. From carefully regulated temperature-controlled rooms to state-of-the-art humidity management systems, every aspect has been carefully thought out to maintain the farm-fresh taste and quality of the produce.
What also sets them apart is their commitment to sourcing the highest quality produce. They work closely with trusted local farmers and leading fresh produce suppliers, all of which have a common passion for responsibly sourced, high-quality produce. “Working with like-minded suppliers is crucial, our clients rely on us for consistent quality, and we have to deliver on that every time” says Lana. Woods works with a number of popular growers, such as Nurtured in Norfolk, a leading producer for micro herbs and edible flowers, The Tomato Stall for Isle of Wight tomatoes, and Hall’s Avocados. They also recently partnered with Nationwide Produce, a family-owned business with over 50 years experience supplying fruits and vegetables from around the world.
Whether it's small independent restaurants or large event caterers, they understand the challenges and demands and dedicate themselves to providing their customers with the best possible support. As part of their collaborations with brands, Woods hosts regular events and cooking demos, and they also offer weekly tours of their facilities for those who want to learn more about what they do and their product range.
