The group will open a new restaurant in London’s Southbank this spring within the Royal Festival Hall.
Overlooking Southbank Centre Square, the restaurant will have space for 220 covers in total and will have a large, central bar that will divide the space into two - with bar seating area at the front, and the main dining area to the rear.
There will also be a large terrace with heated umbrellas and architectural style planting.
“We are so humbled to be able to open Flat Iron in such a historic and culturally vibrant London landmark,” says Flat Iron’s head of beef Fred Smith.
“We have conscientiously designed the interiors to reflect the building’s rich history and cannot wait to use this amazing space to continue our mission to serve delicious and accessible steak to all Londoners.”
The new restaurant is part of a sustained expansion by Flat Iron, which recently made the move nationwide with new openings in Manchester, Cambridge, and Leeds. It returned to the capital for its latest restaurant, which opened in Victoria at the end of last year.
In October the company confirmed it had appointed boutique adviser Houlihan Lokey to assess its options, which are understood to include third-party investment or a possible sale of the business.
In its most recent accounts, sales rose 38% to a record £49.6m in the 12 months to the end of August, with underlying profits rising to £5.7m, from £3.8m in 2023.
