Food hall operator Boxpark will launch a new competitive socialising concept at its Croydon site next month.

Spanning 3,500 sq ft, Playbox will offer a ‘dynamic mix of interactive games and classic entertainment’ including digital shuffleboard and darts; karaoke; pool tables; and retro arcade games.

The new venue will also show live sport and cater to corporate and group events with tailored hire options and multi-game reservations.

“Playbox is about bringing people together through the shared joy of gaming and sports,” says Boxpark head of operations Linda Miles.

“We’re thrilled to launch in Boxpark Croydon, a hub of culture and community, and can’t wait to welcome guests into this fun, bold, and exciting new space.”

Launched in 2010 in Shoreditch, Boxpark now operates five food halls in London and Liverpool.

Launched in 2016, Boxpark Croydon was the group’s second location and is located next to East Croydon train station.

Later this year, it will launch a new concept called Boxhall in Bristol and The City.
