Glen Leeson and Prince Durairaj, who also own highly-rated desi pubs The Tamil Prince and The Tamil Crown in Islington, have taken a site on Caledonian Road, close to The British Library, for their next site.
The King’s Cross restaurant is due to open later this month and will serve the same menu as at the Clapham original.
Dishes will include snacks such as fried baby sweetcorn; and onion bhaji, a selection of dosas and pooris, tandoori items including a half tandoori chicken and mint chutney; and paneer tikka and pineapple chutney; and curries such as dhal curry; channa masala; paneer butter masala; Thanjavur chicken curry; and Chettinad lamb curry.
Restaurant revealed back in October that Leeson and Durairaj were to open a second Tamila shortly after the brand made its debut in Clapham having bid on a number of sites at the same time.
“It’s just the nature of the game,” said Leeson.
“You bid on a load of sites and get turned down for almost all of them, but like buses these two came at the same time.”
