The husband-and-wife team are adding the 21-room hotel to their The Ainsworth Collection, joining the couple’s Michelin-starred Padstow restaurant Paul Ainsworth at No6, Caffe Rojano by Paul Ainsworth, The Mariners pub, and Padstow Townhouse.
The boutique property, which overlooks the picturesque Camel Estuary, is the only hotel in Rock and will enable the Ainsworths to offer more of their customers accommodation, building on the six rooms currently available at their Townhouse property.
“Emma and I have long admired The St Enodoc and are absolutely delighted to become its new owners and custodians,” says Paul.
“This landmark hotel is set in a stunning location right on our doorstep. We are excited to welcome this wonderful hotel to The Ainsworth Collection and further build on its legacy.”
The St Enodoc is a boutique hotel that was built in the 1920s. It underwent a large remodelling in 1999 to re-establish it as one of Cornwall’s main seaside-chic boutique hotels and was later bought in January 2019 by a family with a long-standing love of the hotel and area.
The pair say they have no immediate plans to change the style of the hotel, which currently operates The St Enodoc Brasserie and which did have a separate dining space called Karrek, which is no longer open.
“Our priority is ensuring a seamless employment transition for the St Enodoc team while welcoming them to the Ainsworth Collection family, to get to know our new business, and to create a warm welcome for guests,” adds Paul.
“We can’t wait to start our journey with this lovely hotel and commence the next chapter in St Enodoc’s story.”
