Buns From Home CEO Shereen Ritchie has announced she is stepping down from the London-based bakery chain after two years.

Ritchie joined the business in 2023 as COO before being promoted to CEO in January 2024. Prior to that she was COO for Irish restaurant chain Sprout & Co and was also managing director at Leon UK.

Under her leadership, the bakery expanded to 21 locations across London and currently operates sites in places including Hammersmith, King’s Cross, Embankment, Covent Garden, Victoria, Soho, Piccadilly, and Canary Wharf.

The business specialises in hand-rolled croissant buns that come in sweet varieties such as cinnamon, choc hazelnut, pistachio, dulce de leche, and vanilla custard as well as savoury options such as ham and cheese, and spinach and feta.

It has gained a cult following and is regularly named as one of London’s best bakeries.

Ritchie will be passing the baton back to the company’s founder Barney Goff. Goff, who started buns from home in his mother’s kitchen during the first Covid lockdown in March 2020, opened the brand’s first store in Notting Hill in January 2021.

He will now resume the CEO role and continue driving the company’s roll out plans.

Reflecting on her time with the brand, Ritchie says: “The last few years have been an incredible whirlwind of growth and achievement, and this remarkable brand is now well-positioned for global success.

“I’m deeply grateful to my amazing team for their dedication, creativity and passion in delivering the ‘buns magic’ to our ever-growing customer base.

“They are all superstars. Passing the reins back to Barney feels like a full-circle moment.

“We have a strong pipeline of openings for 2025 and I’m excited to watch buns from home thrive in its next chapter.”
