Husband and wife Giorgio and Plaxy Locatelli have announced the sudden closure of their well-known Marylebone Italian restaurant.

The restaurant, which has occupied a spot within the Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill for the past 23 years, has posted a statement on its website saying it is no longer open.

“With a heavy heart, for reasons out of our control, we are now permanently closed,” the statement reads.

“We will miss all of our clients, many who have become friends. But when one door closes, another opens, so please check our social media for updates on our new project”.

“We wish you all a happy, healthy & prosperous 2025 & thank you all for your custom over the last 23 years”.

The Locatellis opened their eponymous restaurant in 2002, and it won a Michelin star just a year later, which it retained ever since. The restaurant had stood the test of time thanks to its high-quality cooking and extensive Italian wine list.

Back in late 2014 the restaurant was forced to close for five months following a major fire in the hotel kitchens, with it reopening in the spring of 2015.

Locatelli previously also ran Italian restaurant Ronda Locatelli in Dubai, which he launched in 2008 but closed in 2022.
