Two of the founders of kebab restaurant group Le Bab will launch a ‘brand new old fashioned boozer’ on the former site of Camden Market pub The Farrier early next year.

The Dark Horse will see Stephen Tozer and Ed Brunet collaborate with music venue Tape London and will celebrate the area’s music heritage with live music performances and music industry events.

Created by Tozer and Brunet – who both worked at Mayfair restaurant Le Gavroche prior to founding Le Bab in 2015 – the menu will ‘deploy Michelin training into vintage pub classics’.

Options will include fish and chips, lamb shank hot pot, fresh Pies, bangers and mash, prawn cocktail and rarebit crumpets.

A full English breakfast and Sunday roasts will be served at the weekends.

Interiors have been designed by Buchanan Studio and will marry classic pub references with the bare bones of the Victorian stable building featuring exposed brickwork and cast iron.

The walls will be covered with a curated collection of original music art and photography with reference to the London and Camden music scene.

Launched during the pandemic by friends George Hartshorn, Chris Gibson and Ollie Patterson, The Farrier pub closed earlier this year citing the challenges of operating in a tourist-heavy, seasonal area.

The launch will bring Tozer and Brunet up to a total of eight London sites with The Dark Horse joining six Le Bab restaurants and kebab tasting menu concept Kebab Queen.
