Called Super Club Roma, it will serve a menu of ‘delicately charred crispy Margherita direttamente da Roma’ pizza – thin Roman-style pizzas.
It will be led by Marcel Khan, who was appointed CEO of The Fulham Shore a year ago.
The menu will feature a range of eight Roman pizzas, including the Marinara Sbagliata, made with San Marzano tomatoes, confit garlic, chilli flakes, and Calabrian oregano; the ‘Nduja with tomatoes, chilli flakes, mozzarella, smoked mountain ham, sweet peppers, roquito honey, and pecorino; the Finocchiona with tomatoes, fennel seeds, fennel salami, goat’s cheese, Tropea onions, mozzarella, and chives; and the Super Nova with toppings that include salami, habanero hot sauce, burratini and pecorino.
It will also serve a short selection of fritti – lasagne with pesto, pecorino and basil; spaghetti with béchamel, garlic, chilli, and aioli; potato crocchettas with smoked mozzarella, aioli, and chives; truffle porcini arancini with truffle crème and cracked pepper; and ‘nduja bombs’ made with nduja honey – and sides such as meatballs with parmesan and basil; spicy fried olives; and cacio e pepe chips.
Desserts include a bomboloni soft serve served either plain or with sea salt and extra virgin olive oil, or with chilli and roquito honey; Italian chocolate pizza with hazelnut chocolate, Amarena cherry, and mascarpone; profiteroles; and a rum baba.
On the drinks list is a range of cocktails, spritz, and shots as well as frozen cocktails such as the Kick Ass Margarita made with blanco tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and agave nectar.
The new concept comes during a time of increased activity in the pizza space, particularly in brands offering alternatives to the now ubiquitous Neapolitan-style pizza, including Lenny’s Apizza, which serves New Haven style pizza at The Bedford Tavern in London’s Finsbury Park, Crisp Pizza in Hammersmith, and Alley Cats, which serves New York style 14-inch pizzas.
Super Club Roma will open at 2 Chesnut Plaza at Westfield Stratford City on 5 December.
