The steakhouse group will open a 150-cover restaurant within the Grade II listed building, which was originally designed by famed Mancunian architect Edward Walters, in spring 2025.
Located on the corner of Mosley Street and York Street, the site is described by the restaurant as ‘the final extravagant palazzo style building in the city’, and will feature a central marble-topped bar, marble-topped tables, plush green velvet seating, and a marbled floor.
It will also feature a private dining room in the building’s former bank vaults.
The building was previously home to the Royal Bank of Scotland from 2001 until 2020 when it was bought by property company Bruntwood and renamed as Bond in reference to its banking history.
The Cut & Craft’s menus are overseen by executive chef Naeim Yekta with dishes that include starters such as braised pork cheek; beef fillet carpaccio; and smoked haddock scotch egg and a selection of steaks, including its signature 10oz flat iron steak. Other dishes include grilled sea bass; cod supreme; chicken and halloumi fajitas; burgers and salads.
The Cut & Craft was founded by Oscar Akgul and Osman Doganozu in York in 2019 as premium steak restaurant with an in-house master butcher.
A second restaurant opened in Leeds in 2022.
