US fast food chain Wendy’s will soon make its debut in the South West of England following a deal with franchise organisation Khidmat Limited.

The agreement will see up to six Wendy’s launch in the region and comes amidst a wider ‘beefing up’ of the group’s presence in England.

Four further Wendy’s sites will launch over the coming months in Newcastle, Rutland, Colchester and London’s Fulham.

The four launches – some of which have already been announced – will bring the group up to nearly 40 bricks and mortar restaurants.

Earlier this year, Wendy’s UK business reported a near 50% rise in turnover for 2023, although while pre-tax profits fell slightly from £1.4m to £1.2m.

Founded in Ohio in 1969, Wendy’s returned to the UK market in 2021 having left two decades previously to focus on its North American business.

“Wendy’s is poised for tremendous growth and expansion across the U.K. and Europe,” a Wendy’s spokesperson says.

“We are thrilled to welcome Khidmat Limited to the Wendy’s family and we look forward to partnering with them to further expand the brand’s footprint and unlock new opportunities to bring our fresh famous food to fans across the country.”
