London-based better burger brand Bleecker is planning two further openings in the capital in the coming months, having returned to the expansion trail earlier this year.

Founder Zan Kaufman told MCA, Restaurant’s sister site, that the group will open two more sites before the end of its financial year in April 2025, including an outpost within KERB’s Seven Dials Market near Covent Garden.

“That will be nice because it’s a bit of a homecoming,” Kaufman said.

“We started with KERB, so we’ve come full circle.”

Bleecker returned to the expansion trail back in August with an opening on Tooley Street near London Bridge; its first new restaurant in five years and eighth location overall in the capital.

One of the golden generation of street food concepts, Bleecker built a reputation for one of the most uncompromising burgers in London’s street food scene, based on a no-frills formula of patty, bun and cheese.

Founded by New York native Kaufman, Bleecker originally launched back in 2012 and opened its first permanent concession site within Spitalfields Market in 2015.

The group went on to establish bricks and mortar sites in Victoria and Bloomberg Arcade in 2017, as well as another concession within Westfield London that opened back in 2019

It also operates three delivery-only locations in Battersea, Bermondsey and Maida Vale.

Kaufman said the group’s decision to appoint a property director earlier this year has been instrumental in driving forward Bleecker’s growth plan.

“I was battling for sites,” she added.

“I’d see them after 30 people have seen them. Now I see sites first as my property director has relationships with people where they’ll come to him first.”
