Restaurant has partnered with the European Union to create a one-day food and drink event for chefs and restaurant businesses looking to enhance their menus.

The Discovery Day will take place at America Square Conference Venue in London on Monday 25 November and will feature talks, specialised cooking masterclasses, and tastings led by top chefs and experts that showcase the diversity of ingredients and products from across Europe.

Sessions on the day will include:

Confectionery & Bakery Masterclass with Katharine Shipley: From the sublime to the delicious: a culinary sampling of the diversity of artisan EU chocolatiers and confectioners. Delegates will get to sample a wide range of interesting and unique chocolates and desserts to inspire new confectionery creations.

Cheese Masterclass with Patrick McGuigan: Grate, melt and slice: EU cheese in the kitchen and on the board. Globetrotting cheese expert Patrick McGuigan will lead a tasting of lesser-known European Union cheeses that can give your cheeseboard added va va voom.

Wine, Spirits & Beers: Beyond the expected: ideas for non-traditional wine, beers and spirits pairing. Countries across the European Union are known for their viticulture, brewing and distilling prowess. Beer expert Nick Worthing presents the more unusual products and pairings to make your drinks list stand out from the crowd.

Fresh & Frozen Vegetables with Chantelle Nicholson: Alternatives to ultra-processed: using EU fruit and vegetables to create authentic, delicious plant-based options. Apricity chef-patron Chantelle Nicholson will host an essential tasting and live cooking demo for any business looking to enhance their plant-based food offer.

There will also be a panel discussion hosted by Restaurant editor Stefan Chomka featuring chefs including Tom Cenci from Mortimer House and Nessa; Gary Foulkes, executive chef at Cornus; Graham Hornigold, founder of Longboys; Aika Levins, group development chef at Studio Paskin; and two Michelin-starred chef Henrique Sá Pessoa
