The pub company will open Rita’s Beerhall and Ballroom in the former Walkabout site on Woodhouse Lane in the city centre.
Described as a ‘beerhall for cocktail lovers’ the new venue promises to serve a menu of pizza, beers and cocktails and offer a seven-day-a week programme of live music and entertainment. It is being launched to tap into what the pub company says is a demand for new experiences.
“In the past few years, the way in which guests socialise has rapidly changed,” says David McDowall, CEO at Stonegate Group.
“Going out remains a real priority, but guests are going out at different times and searching for engaging, entertaining venues, and new types of experiences.
“Rita’s Beerhall and Ballroom brings all of that together with a day-to-night experience like no other. It’s a place where everyone is welcome, and anything can happen.”
Its opening follows success in the beerhall arena from operator Mission Mars, which operates Albert’s Schloss ‘bierhalls’ in Manchester, Birmingham, and Liverpool. The group most recently opened an Albert’s Schloss on London’s Shaftesbury Avenue.
Rita’s Beerhall and Ballroom is expected to open in December.
