High-profile Milan-based chef restaurateur and TV personality Carlo Cracco will make his UK debut next month with a restaurant at Eataly London.

His arrival will see the Broadgate retail and restaurant destination’s Terra restaurant re-branded Terra by Carlo Cracco.

The partnership will showcase a newly designed menu by the Italian chef, including his famous soft eggs - uovo al tartufo. As well as providing a new look and feel to Terra, the restaurant collaboration will see Cracco working collaboratively with Eataly, bringing his modern culinary vision to life.

The main courses will be a selection of seasonal Italian dishes cooked using traditional methods. Guests can expect risotto Milano, a saffron risotto with smoked bone marrow; and cotoletta alla londinese, a breaded lamb chop served with lemon and seasonal vegetables.

To finish, the dessert menu will consist of Italian sweet treats, including a nuvola tiramisu, made using a mascarpone cloud, coffee, cocoa powder and marsala.

“We are thrilled to bring the rich flavours and culinary excellence of Italian cuisine to the heart of London," says Cracco.

Our partnership with Eataly allows us to share a piece of Italy with the world, blending tradition and innovation to offer our guests an authentic dining experience that celebrates the essence of Italy in every dish.”

Known for his avante garde cuisine that challenges culinary norms, Cracco is one of Italy’s best-known chefs.

His flagship Cracco restaurant in Milan was at one point a regular on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list and currently holds one Michelin star.

He is a controversial figure in Italian gastronomy having created combative dishes that have angered traditionalists, perhaps most infamously a take on risotto involving basmati rice, instant coffee powder and sea urchin.

The chef runs a number of establishments outside his home city including Cracco Portofino.

Eataly launched in The City of London in 2021 having first been announced in 2018.

The 42,000sq ft venue combines specialist retail with a number of different food offers including pasta and pizza restaurant Pasta e Pizza.

"Since its opening in London, Eataly has always provided a wide selection of high-quality products from the Italian food and wine tradition, along with experiences that highlight the Italian lifestyle," says Andrea Cipolloni, group CEO of Eataly.

"We are honoured that Terra will become the first restaurant to introduce Chef Carlo Cracco’s culinary vision to London.

"We will aim to offer our guests a completely new experience, providing a true flavour of Italy, perfectly balanced between Italian tradition and modernity."
