Open to school leavers and anyone over the age of 16 across England, the programme offers a Level 2 Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship and is a core part of Nando’s ongoing investment in hospitality careers.
The 15-month syllabus, provided in partnership with Lifetime Training, includes training on customer service, team leadership and personal development, while providing opportunities to learn alongside Nando’s experienced team members in-restaurant.
“Launching the second year of the programme supports us in our ambition to develop our future managers from within our business as part of our commitment to investing in providing clear career paths within the hospitality industry,” says Maria Horn, chief people officer at Nando’s.
“We welcome applicants looking to work in a fast-paced and varied environment to build skills that will serve them throughout their careers with Nando’s and beyond.”
All apprentices receive the same salary as full-time team members alongside a package of benefits such as free meals every shift, up to 40% discount including five guests, and a paid sabbatical after five years of service.
Launched last year, ‘Hospitality Heroes’ welcomed 114 applicants for its inaugural intake.
Those apprentices are now over halfway through the programme and set to graduate later this year.
“At Nando’s it’s our people that bring the passion to our restaurants and it’s been fantastic to see our more than 100-strong cohort of Hospitality Heroes apprentices flourish this year,” adds Horn.
The ‘Hospitality Heroes’ programme forms part of the Nando’s apprenticeship offering that the group originally established in 2017.
