Bar group The Alchemist is banking on a continued return of office workers to the City with plans for a new £1.9m project.

The group has announced its newest site in the City of London, located on Eastcheap close to Monument station, which is due to open its doors in January 2025.

The Monument site will span 5,549sq ft across ground and basement levels and will have space for 115 covers. Designed by Macaulay Sinclair, it will benefit from a £1.9m investment from the group.

“As businesses and office workers continue to return to the city, we are excited about what the future holds for this vibrant location,” says Simon Potts, CEO of The Alchemist.

“Monument is a hub of corporate activity, and we are really happy to bring our unique offering to an area steeped in history and buzzing with energy. We look forward to becoming a part of this dynamic community and offering a memorable experience to all our guests.”

The Alchemist Monument joins six other London venues in the portfolio including Battersea, Bevis Marks, Canary Wharf, Old Street, St Martin’s Lane and Victoria.

“We are thrilled to welcome The Alchemist to 16 Eastcheap,” says Lachlan Ezzy, asset manager at Tellon Capital

“Their innovative approach to hospitality perfectly aligns with the dynamic atmosphere of the area and the character of our building.

“It has been a pleasure working with The Alchemist team, and we look forward to witnessing the transformation of the space as they complete their fit-out.”
