Cult Copenhagen restaurant Gasoline Grill is bringing its smash burgers to the capital by means of a four-week pop-up at The Standard, London.

Taking over the trendy King’s Cross hotel’s ground floor Double Standard restaurant from 12 August to 15 September, the pop-up will makr the first time Gasoline Grill has operated outside of Denmark.

The first Gasoline Grill opened quietly in 2016 inside an operational gas station on a side street in Copenhagen. The ‘viral restaurant sensation’ now operates across seven different locations in Copenhagen (including Strandgarde - the high-end food market curated by the Noma Group).

The menu at The Standard, London will feature Gasoline Grill’s smash burgers including The Original Burger and the Cheeseburger as well as the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and a Vegetarian Burger.

There will also be a surf and turf burger developed especially for The Standard, London and available in limited numbers until sold out.

Other menu items will include crinkle cut fries and brunch specials including Hot Nashville Chicken Waffles; and Blueberry Pancakes.

“From day one, I have had an international vision for Gasoline Grill. When the chance to partner with The Standard London came along, it was a natural fit,” says Gasoline Grill founder Klaus Wittrup. “The Standard is a top-tier, design-led hotel in one of the world’s greatest cities, perfectly matching our values of quality and hospitality.”

Gasoline Grill will be competing with a myriad of other smash burger concepts that have recently launched in the capital including Junk Burgers, Supra Burger, SMSH BN and Supernova.
